Digital Identity and Iran’s Trusted Identity Framework


Shakhes Think Tank In this policy report, examines various aspects of digital identity and presents practical solutions in this field. First, by defining fundamental concepts and outlining key challenges, the necessary groundwork for a more comprehensive understanding of the subject is established. Then, through a comparative analysis of pioneering initiatives in five selected countries (the United States, Australia, Canada, China, and Switzerland), successful global models for digital identity management are analyzed. Subsequently, the status of digital identity in Iran is reviewed, and through an examination of existing documents, strengths and areas for improvement in the Trusted Identity System framework are identified. based of this analysisa comprehensive model for optimal policymaking in the country's Trusted Identity System has been proposed, which, considering national requirements, leads to the creation of a secure, efficient, and reliable framework for digital identity management. Through a thorough analysis and policy recommendations, this report takes a step toward enhancing Iran's digital identity system and aligning it with global trends in this field.
